Web Based Solution

The net.tickIT web application is an n-tier web based system that provides a scalable, reliable and flexible ticketing solution.

With all the data, templates and graphics held centrally, the stores can access their replacement signage by using their on-line browser. New pricing events are published on their private web service automatically ready for stores to select and activate a print run. The web service then prints directly to the store’s network printer. This is a multi-user system enabling any number of store departments to access the web system from their own PC.

net.tickIT is able to filter items in an update event so that only those products that are ranged to a store will be listed for print selection.

Price events are initiated by the central EPOS system and automatically processed by the net.tickIT central system. According to the type of product, net.tickIT will select the corresponding display template, graphic, strapline and unit or APR calculation suitable for the specified date effective and store profile.

The system is written in .NET and is based upon a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database which contains all the data required for the net.tickIT application to run without permanent access to external data sources or systems. The net.tickIT system will however contain either a synchronisation module that will automatically synchronise with retailers’ legacy systems such as JDA, SAP, etc or an import service that will accept exported data from those systems.

The main net.tickIT application is based upon an Internet Information Server (IIS) web site and an ASP.NET web solution.  This environment provides web services suitable for both mobile and desktop browsers accessing the central database through a scaleable application layer.
